Mike Becks a professional musician and working cowboy whose songs reflect his experiences riding the ranges of California, Montana and Nevada.
A regular at the annual National Cowboy Poetry Gathering in Elko, Nevada, Beck is renowned internationally for both his horsemanship and musical ability. Known for his guitar wizardry and western songwriting, Mike’s mellow sound combines real cowboy experience with a unique blend of western, rock and Americana styles.
Western Cowboy Magazine placed two of his compositions on a list titled “The 13 Best Cowboy Songs of All Time,” putting him in the company of heroes such as Ian Tyson, Lucinda Williams, Tom Russell and Gene Autry, the original singing cowboy.
Born and raised in Monterey County, California, he was a student of legendary horseman Bill Dorrance and now travels extensively in the U.S. and Europe, making music and conducting horsemanship clinics
